Registration for fall football and cheerleading was extended to Wednesday, Aug. 21. Those who missed sign up last week, can still get their children in to play and cheer. Office hours will be extended to 5 p.m. on week days. The office closes for lunch from 12-12:30 p.m.

Registration is going on now for the first Young Barbarian Mud Run. This 1.5-mile muddy run is set for Saturday, Sept. 21. This is specially designed for kids ages nine to 14-years-old. There will be three waves with the times as follows: 8 a.m. – ages nine to 10-years-old; 9 a.m. – ages 11-12-years-old; and 10 a.m. ages 13-14-years-old. Each wave is limited to 40 Barbarians and preregistration is required. There will be no registering the day of the run. Before the run, each participant will get a temporary Viking tattoo and running number.

Each participant will receive a Barbarian Helmet upon crossing the finish line. There will be medals for the top three finishers of each age group, boy and girl.  A complete list of obstacles and map of run will be available soon. The cost is $20 per child and forms are available online at www.bainbridgecity.com or at the Leisure Services office. This is a red mud run and clothes and shoes may get stained. Bring cameras, a change of clothes and a towel along.

Sign up for Boot Camp V which is set for Tuesday, Sept. 3. It will begin the week of Sept. 9 and run through the week of Oct. 14. The program will be on Monday and Wednesday nights from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and will also include three bonus Saturdays for a total of 15 sessions. The cost is $25 and includes a t-shirt. Space is limited to 40 participants. Those ready to take their workout to the next level should attend.
