Clarence Duke

Mr. Clarence Duke, of Toomsboro, Ga., passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2013. Funeral services were conducted in the Toomsboro United Methodist Church with interment following in Ebenezer Church Cemetery.

Mr. Duke was a native of Faceville, Ga., and he had made his home in Wilkinson County for most of his life. He was a retired school teacher. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served honorably in World War II.

He was the son of the late Clarence Gordon Duke and the late Maude Granger Duke. He was predeceased by a son, Dale Duke.

He is survived by his wife Mary Holland Duke of Toomsboro; daughters Sandra Sallee of Cairo, Ga., Marsha Powers and Patti Duke of Toomsboro and Lisa Mathews of Macon, Ga.; son Clarence Alan Duke of Toomsboro; sister Judy Ann Howell of Tallahassee, Fla.; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to the United Methodist Volunteers in Mission (UMVIM).

Williams Funeral Home, of Gordon, Ga., has charge of arrangements.
