Alice Omega Dean, 71, a resident of Greensboro, N.C., died Friday June 7, 2013, at the Hospice Home of High Point, N.C., after a period of several years of declining health.

Omega was born in Vada, the daughter of Sam Paul Dean and Edna Grace Keaton Dean. She graduated from Southwest High School in Macon, Ga., and graduated from the University of Georgia School of Pharmacy. She served her internship at Duke University.

After her internship she worked as a pharmacist with Mclarty Drug Co. in High Point. She then owned and operated the Medicine Shoppe and Fisher Park Pharmacy in Greensboro. She loved her customers and knew most of them by first name. After selling Fisher Park Pharmacy she worked and retired from CVS Pharmacy. Omega was an avid golfer. She was a member of Sedgefield Country Club and a former member of Forest Oaks Country Club.

Surviving are two sisters, Carolyn Meadows and husband Harvey of Macon, Paula Willene Long of Perry, Ga.; special friends, Louise “Pete” Brown of Thomasville, Ga., Donna Norman of Thomasville, Helen and Jerry Lawson of Greensboro, Vicki Yarborough of Greensboro; four nieces and three nephews; seven great nieces and eight great nephews and four great-great nephews.

A special thank you to her friends at Forest Oaks and Sedgefield, the staff and caretakers at Clapps Nursing and Care Center in Pleasant Garden and to Hospice of the Piedmont.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 22, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Parkway Baptist Church, located at 5049 Log Cabin Drive, Macon, with Reverend Paul Meadows and Reverend Josh Meadows officiating.

Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home of High Point, N.C. was in charge.
