Animal lovers plan get-together

The Bainbridge-Decatur County Humane Society will hold a bingo and hot dog fundraiser in conjunction with its annual membership meeting on May 31.

The fundraiser and meeting will be held in the J.O. Smith Activities Building at the First United Methodist Church, 300 W. Shotwell Street.

Supper will be served at 6 p.m., with a short informational meeting to take place during supper.

Bingo will be played between 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. There will also be door prizes. Admission is a $10 donation for adults and a $5 donation for children and includes supper and a bingo card. Extra bingo cards can be provided for a suggested donation of $1 per card or six cards for $5.

There will also be a raffle for a chocolate layer cake and another drawing for a birdhouse.

The animal shelter is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday by appointment only.

Animal lovers can also donate to support the care of animals at the shelter by visiting the Humane Society’s Web site. The Humane Society also has a link to an Amazon.com “wish list” comprised of items needed by the shelter.
