Mr. and Mrs. William Johnston announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Lynne Johnston, of Bainbridge, to Joseph Lee Ricketson, of Valdosta, Ga.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Johnston and Mr. and Mrs. E.R. Cleveland.

Miss Johnston is a graduate of Bainbridge High School, and of Valdosta State University, where she received a bachelor’s in business administration in marketing. She is employed with Georgia Power.

The groom-to-be is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Ricketson of Baxley, Ga., and of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Burch of Douglas, Ga. His grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. James Conrad and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ricketson.

He graduated from Bacon County High School. He received an Associate of Science degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from Darton College. After receiving a B.S. in Biology from Valdosta State University, he is currently attending the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, pursuing a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. He will graduate in December 2014. He is employed as a physical therapist assistant with Regional Therapy of Valdosta.

The wedding is planned for April 27, at 4 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, in Bainbridge. The reception will follow at the Charles H. Kirbo Center. Friends and relatives are invited to attend.
