The Bainbridge Bearcats’ junior-varsity team lost a hotly contested 3-2 match against the Cairo Syrupmakers on Monday, in Cairo, Ga.
Corey Morrison opened the scoring for the Bearcats in the fourth minute, off an assist from Pito Estala. Cairo answered in the 15th minute.
Bainbridge retook the lead in the 22nd minute, when Michael Bush scored for the Bearcats after taking a crossing pass from Jay Castro.
Cairo’s final goals came in the 24th and 26th minutes.
“We improved dramatically from our last game, but we still made too may mistakes to win the game,” Bainbridge coach Jamie Ard said. “Most of the mistakes we make come from lack of experience, but we have got to learn from our errors and grow up quickly if we want to have success.
“We have some good talent on the team. We just have to stay patient and keep working.”
