• Humane Society Book Fair to benefit the Bainbridge Animal Shelter, St. John’s Episcopal Church, 516 E. Broughton St., 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

• Fishers of Men bass fishing tournament (South Georgia Division), Wingate’s Lodge

• Greater Mt. Calvary Church, located at 417 E. Broad St., Climax, is having an annual Black History program at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be served following the program.

Pine Hill M.B. Church, located on Pine Hill Church Road, will hold the Black History Celebration at 6 p.m. Deacon Brock Washington will deliver a message on the theme of “We’ve come this far by faith.”

Sunday, Feb. 24

Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church, located at 1810 S. West Street, will observe Black History with a special program at 11:15, featuring Rev. John Neal.

• First African Baptist Church, located at 115 Church Street in West Bainbridge, will observe Black History month during the 11 a.m. worship service. A soul food sampler dinner will be served following the worship hour. At 3 p.m. the board of religious education will present “Milestones and Living Legends” honoring African American nonagenarians and centenarians of Decatur County. Minister Gregory Hines of Kingdom Harvest Fellowship Church of Attapulgus is speaker.

Emanuel M.B. Church of Fowlstown, located at 161 Emanuel Church Road, will present the annual Black History celebration at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Adren Bivins Sr. speaking on the theme “We have come a long way with many miles yet to travel.”

Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church, located at 849 MLK Drive, Bainbridge, will observe Black History Month at the 11 a.m. service with Niki Yarbrough, of Life Ministry, Tallahassee, as guest speaker.

• Greater Macedonia M.B. Church, located at 1006 Holly St., Bainbridge, will conclude a month-long celebration with a skit entitled “Fulfillment- The Obamas meet the Kings.”
