Virginia P. Nelson

Virginia P. Nelson, 86, died on Feb. 2, 2013, at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Concord, N.H. after a brief illness.

The funeral will be at Trinity Baptist Church, 80 Clinton St., Concord, on Thursday, Feb. 7, at 10:30 am. Interment services will be held at Blossom Cemetery.

She was born in Reynoldsville, Ga., in 1926, to Eddie S. and Myrtle Barber Poitivent. She was a graduate of West Bainbridge High School, Class of 1943.

Virginia was a bank bookkeeper prior to her marriage. She was the volunteer camp registrar at Camp Good News for numerous years, and active in Child Evangelism Fellowship, a member of the Emerson Hill Club, and a sewing teacher and judge for New Hampshire 4-H. She was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church of Concord, NH.

She was predeceased by her husband, Stewart Nelson Jr., in 2009, and her three brothers, Eddie Poitevint, Royce Poitevint, and Seab Poitevint.

She is survived by her children and their spouses Georgia Osterc, Penny Young, Charlie Nelson, and Janet McManus, and her nine grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to The Austin Home, 532 White Plains Road, Webster, NH 03303, where she spent her last wonderful year on the lake.

The Bennett Funeral Home of Concord is in charge of the arrangements.
