Mrs. Lois Mills Chason, 81, passed away Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Big Bend Hospice House in Tallahassee, Fla.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Jeff Stapleton and Mr. Larry Harrell officiating. Interment will follow at Beulah Thomas Baptist Church Cemetery, with Brett Whitmire, Donnie Vaughn, Jimmy Miller, Mike Rouse, Dusty Dedge, Russell Cook, Danny Stille and Gary Morris serving as active pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at Ivey Funeral Home, prior to the funeral service.

Memorial donations may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308.

Mrs. Chason was born Sept. 21, 1931, in Whigham, Ga., the daughter of Tifton Mills and Amanda Lee Martin Mills. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, a retired cook for Bainbridge State Hospital, and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Clifford Chason.

Survivors include her children, Debbie Pickren of Bainbridge, Carol Whitmire and her husband, Brian, of Jacksonville, Fla., H. C. “Bubba” Chason and wife, Carolyn, of Bainbridge, and Robby Chason and his wife, Tina, of Cary, N.C.; her sister, Mary Vaughn of Tallahassee; her grandchildren, Sunnie Chason, Abbie Chason, Olivia Chason, Allie Chason, Sophia Chason, Eric Pickren, Scott Pickren, Brett Whitmire, and Cari Whitmire; and her four great-grandchildren.
