Dr. MLK Jr. Day holiday closings

All non-emergency City of Bainbridge offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 21, in observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

Offices will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 22, with normal operating hours. Due to the holiday, the garbage collection schedule will be pushed back a day.

Those residences who are regularly scheduled for Monday will have their garbage collected on Tuesday, Jan. 22, while those regularly scheduled for Tuesday will have theirs picked up on Wednesday, Jan. 23.

Decatur County government offices will be closed for the holiday, as will state and federal offices, including the U.S. Postal Service.

The Decatur County Schools, Bainbridge College and the ATLAS Educational program will also be closed.

The Decatur County-Gilbert H. Gragg Library will be closed Monday, Jan. 21, in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The library will re-open at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22.

The Post-Searchlight will be open for business on Monday.
