Lewis named Georgia MVP at All-Star game

Bainbridge High School Bearcats senior running back Terry Lewis was named Southwest Georgia’s  most valuable offensive player in Saturday’s Forida-Georgia War of the Border Senior All-Star Game in Moultrie.

Lewis finished with eight carries for 44 yards, but the Southwest Georgia team lost 21-14 to the North Florida All-Stars. Eight other Bearcats joined Lewis on the Southwest Georgia team.

They included defensive back Cameron McDowell, center Cole Granato, right guard Aquivius Carroll, wide receiver A.J, Miller, defensive end Darryl McGee, free safety Dontavious Baulkman, strong safety Devin Hubbard and linebacker Marshall Mack.

For the season, Lewis finished with 141 carries for 1,119 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Southwest Georgia started strong, building a 14-0 halftime lead.

Madison County’s Chris O’Hara blocked a punt, then picked it up and ran 17 yards for the winning touchdown, with 1:31 left in the game.
