Marcia J. Hodges, 76, of Bainbridge, passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at Memorial Manor Nursing Home.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Dan Harper officiating. Interment will be held at Brinson Cemetery.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Ms. Hodges was born Oct. 3, 1936, in Brinson, the daughter of William Wade Hodges and Laurene Borom Hodges. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgia College and a master’s degree in library science from Florida State University. Ms. Hodges worked as a librarian for more than 40 years, retiring with the library in Brunswick, Ga., after 26 years of service. She served in the U.S.O. in Germany. Ms. Hodges was a member of Brinson United Methodist Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Historical Society.

Ms. Hodges was preceded in death by her brother, William Ray Hodges; and her sister, Edith Hodges Stockton.

Survivors include her brother-in-law, James E. Stockton of Brinson; her nephew, James E. Stockton, Jr. of Brinson; her niece, Sharon Brunson and her husband, Joseph, of Brinson; her great-nieces, Sherri Hooper and her husband, Ernie, of Bonifay, Fla. and Jan Marci Brunson of Honolulu, Hawaii; and her great-great nieces and nephews, Shauni Hooper, Parker Hooper, and Mary Grace Hooper, all of Bonifay.
