Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Betty Jean Singleton Howell, 73, of Milledgeville, Ga., were conducted Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at Baldwin Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Jerry Bradley officiating.

Mrs. Howell was a native of Tarpon Springs, Fla., and grew up in Bainbridge. She was the daughter of the late Clomer D. and Agnes Harrell Singleton. She moved to Milledgeville in 1967. She taught cake decorating early in her life and was a member of Sinclair Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, James Howell of Milledgeville; daughter, Denise Mathis of Milledgeville; sons, Kenneth (Donna) Howell of Milledgeville and Mike (Lisa) Howell of Cumming, Ga.; grandchildren, Ryan Mathis, Brandon Mathis, Dylan Mathis, Mack Howell, Charlie Howell and Cody Howell.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Kidney Foundation.

Williams Funeral Home & Crematory of Milledgeville is in charge of the arrangements.
