Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church, located at 849 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Bainbridge, will host a 2013 Year of Release Conference beginning the 13th at 5 p.m. and running through Dec. 16. Weekday services are at 7 p.m., with Bishop George Bloomer of Durham, N.C., as guest speaker.

Second Elizabeth M.B. Church, located at 2718 Attapulgus Hwy., Quincy, will present “Crown of Glory, Women in Hats” at 3 p.m., wtih Minister Isabella Alls Dubose speaking.

St. Thomas M.B. Church, located at 198 Edwards Rd., Fowlstown, will launch their new scholarship fund commemorating their oldest member, Mother Itra Moore, who is 101 years of age. This will be incorporated with the morning worship service.

 Mt. Nebo Church, off Lake Douglas Road, will hold its Men and Women’s Day program at 3 p.m. with Pastor Hayward Teague as guest speaker.

Friday, Jan. 18

Redeeming Life Fellowship Church, located 2378 Highway 188, Cairo, Ga., will host The Gathering of Apostles and Prophets through Jan. 20, featuring guest speakers each day. Friday services begin at 7:30 p.m. Saturday workshops run from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday service is at 11 a.m.

• Decatur County Special Olympics is presenting “The Miracles” in concert at the Bainbridge College Kirbo Center at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 each and can purchased at local banks, other businesses, or from a Special Olympics committe member.

• The Bainbridge Kiwanis Club’s 9th Annual River Run 5K and 10K races will be held at the Earle May Boat Basin. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. and the races start at 9 a.m.

• The 2013 Job and Career Expo will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kirbo Center on the Bainbridge College campus. The event is sponsored by the SWGA Employer Committee and Bainbridge College, and co-sponsored by Bainbridge Career Center at Georgia Department of Labor and the Bainbridge/Decatur County Chamber of Commerce.

• University of Georgia’s 2013 Ag Forecast, Cloud Livestock Facility, registration at 9 a.m., seminar from 10 a.m. to noon with lunch to follow. Richard Barnhill, owner of Mazur and Hockman Peanut Brokers, will be the speaker.
