Robert L. “Sonny” Jackson, 75, made his transition from the earth to be with the Lord, on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at 3 p.m., at the First African Baptist Church, located at 515 Webster St. in Bainbridge, with the Rev. Dr. A. L. Thompson officiating.

This native of Bainbridge was the son of the late Jessie Jackson and Dora Reynolds-Jackson. Robert was a dedicated educator and coach for 30 years in the Miller County and Decatur County school systems. He was a faithful member of the First African Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Pauline Kelly.
Survivors include his wife, Betty D. Jackson, his children, grandchildren, cousins, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
