Community calendar for 12/15/12

Saturday, Dec. 15

• Greater Mt. Calvary First Born Church, located at 471 E. Broad St., in Climax, will have their Christmas program at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served, following the performance.

• New Zion M.B. Church, located at 556 Lincoln Drive, in Chattahoochee, Fla., will host its annual “Gospel Extravaganza,” at 6 p.m. Groups, soloists and praise teams are invited to participate. First African Baptist Church, located at 115 Church St., in west Bainbridge, will host a clothes give-a-way at 11 a.m. on the church grounds.

Beulah Thomas Baptist Church, will hold their annual Christmas get-together at the Christmas Tree Farm on Woodhull Road, starting at 3 p.m. Bring lounge chairs to enjoy an afternoon of fun and song. If you play an instrument, come join in. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be served between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. Desserts welcome. For information, call (229) 220-5926 or (229) 220-8052.

• Men on a Mission for Home Improvements for Senior Citizens will hold a Christmas banquet at 5 p.m. at Bainbridge Middle School. The guest speaker will be Marlon Breedlove. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children over 10.

• The Bainbridge Community Band will perform a Christmas concert at the Kirbo Center on the Bainbridge College campus, at 2 p.m.

Kingdom Harvest Fellowship Church, located at 652 Wautauga Road, in Attapulgus, will have a “Family and Friends Celebration” service at 3 p.m., with Pastor Corey King Sr. of Restoration Tabernacle Ministries, of Thomasville, Ga., as guest speaker.

• Travelers’ Rest M.B. Church, located at 661 Cal Thomas Road, in Whigham, Ga., will observe “Hat Day” during the morning service that begins at 11:20 a.m. All ladies are asked to wear the hat of their choice.

Calvary Baptist Church, located 601 Chason St., in Bainbridge, will present a Christmas cantata, “Heaven’s Child” at 6 p.m.

Thursday, Jan. 31

• The 2013 Job and Career Expo will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kirbo Center on the Bainbridge College campus. The event is sponsored by the SWGA Employer Committee and Bainbridge College, co-sponsored by Bainbridge Career Center at Georgia Dept. of Labor and the Bainbridge/Decatur County Chamber of Commerce.
