“Sen. Bullock has been a trusted champion for our district,” said Burke.  “I’m running because now more than ever we need someone representing us with a long-term commitment to economic development and jobs in our community.”

“We need leaders committed to public service, not politicians in search of political office,” said Burke.

“As a practicing physician, I’ve been honored to have earned the trust of thousands of families throughout Southwest Georgia for more than 25 years.”

“As a product of our Southwest Georgia public school system, no one values public education more than I do. I will do all I can to help our children obtain an education that will enable them to become productive citizens.

“As a doctor, no one is better qualified to effectively fight against Obamacare mandates and the problems it will cause patients.”

“I am committed to agriculture and protecting our water resources. As the grandchild of a Seminole County farmer and as a cattle farmer myself, agriculture is a part of who I am. I understand that the economy of our region is dependent upon agribusiness and will work to secure a place on the Senate Agriculture Committee.”

“I also bring real business experience to the district. I’ve run a business that has employed dozens of people over the years. I know what it takes to create jobs and balance budgets,” said Burke.

“I’ll work to make government more efficient and defend our conservative South Georgia values,” said Burke.

Meet Republican Dean Burke

Trusted Doctor, Committed Conservative

1906 Legette Drive Bainbridge, GA 39819

Trusted Doctor

After graduating Summa Cum Laude from Georgia Southwestern University, Dean then graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. He completed specialty training at Mercer University School of Medicine.

Since earning his license to practice medicine in 1982, Dr. Burke has cared for thousands of patients and families throughout Southwest Georgia. He has gained the trust of our neighbors and friends the old fashioned way: he earned it.

Real Business Experience to Create New Jobs

As a businessman who has created dozens of jobs for more than 25 years, Dean knows that we must reduce the tax burden to help create jobs in Southwest Georgia.

As our new Senator, Dean will lead efforts to expand tax credits and business incentives for those businesses that expand and/or hire new employees.  Dean will propose new legislation that would empower rural governments with more flexibility in creating jobs, including creating locally-selected Opportunity Zones that offer significant tax incentives for growth and job creation.

Committed to Family Agriculture

As the co-owner of a family-managed cattle herd, Dean has a personal commitment to farming and agriculture in Southwest Georgia. His father grew up on a farm, passing on the values of hard work and loyalty to Dean when he was a young child. As our Senator, Dean will work to protect our family farms in Southwest Georgia.

Dean will fight for our region’s fair share of water rights.  We cannot allow uncontrolled growth and irresponsible water policies by other regions to stop our right to clean, accessible water. Water rights are directly tied to all future business success we may enjoy in Southwest Georgia.

Committed to Family

Dean and his wife, Thea, have been married for 32 years and have two children. The family belongs to the First United Methodist Church in Bainbridge. Dean is active in Rotary Club, Boy Scouts of America, and has been honored to serve on the City Council of Bainbridge.
