The Rev. and Mrs. Carl Harrell, of Cairo, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Deborah Marie Watkins of Cairo, to Robert Harrell Thompson of Climax.

Miss Watkins is a graduate of Cairo High School. She graduated from Bainbridge College, with an associate degree in general studies, and is currently enrolled at Valdosta State University seeking a bachelor’s degree.

The groom-to-be is the son of Mr. Gary Thompson of Climax and Mr. and Mrs. Don Johnson, of Iron City, Ga. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Harrell Willis of Iron City, and Mr. and Mrs. James Thompson of Brinson.

Mr. Thompson graduated from Seminole County High School, in Donalsonville, Ga. He graduated from Valdosta State University with a bachelor’s degree of business administration in management. He is employed with Bainbridge College in Bainbridge.

The wedding is planned for Dec. 15, at 3 p.m., at First Baptist Church, in Cairo. The reception will follow in the fellowship hall of First Baptist Church.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend the wedding and reception.
