Bainbridge Public Safety is doing its part to give a Merry Christmas to ten local children.  BPS is holding its first Shop-With-A-Cop event on Thursday, December 20.  With the help of Decatur County Family Connection, BPS has chosen 10 underprivileged children who will get to shop for their family’s Christmas with a Public Safety Officer.

The children and their guardians will meet the Public Safety Officers on the morning of December 20, and the officers will help the children pick out gifts for their family members and will purchase the gifts.  After they have finished shopping, the officers will take the families to lunch at Seminole Wind and then take them back to Public Safety Headquarters where they will help them wrap the gifts!

The city is raffling a 45 Quart Yeti Cooler to help raise money for the event.  Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at Bainbridge Public Safety headquarters on Louise Street, at Bainbridge City Hall on the downtown square and at the Bainbridge Convention and Visitors Bureau on Dothan Road.  Anyone wishing to make a donation to the cause can also do so at any of these locations.  For more information on the program, contact Adrienne Harrison at (229) 243-8555.
