Special to The Post-Searchlight

What if there were a way to create a modern Christmas tradition for your entire family that didn’t cost you a dime? That’s exactly what Grace Church will do this Friday night at 7 p.m., as they freely offer the “Field By Night” to the community.

Once again, Grace will transform an empty field into a vibrant Christmas village trimmed in lights and colorful ribbons. Families are encouraged to wander through this holiday town, stopping to freely sample a plate of cookies from “The Bakery.” Moms will definitely want to stop at the “Decorator’s Den” and watch as a hand-designed holiday bow of their choosing is created just for them. Dad will find the “Coffee House” to select his choice of coffee or hot cocoa before moving on to the “Candy Land” for a plate of sweets.

The chill of the evening will probably invite the whole family to the “Chowder House” for a cup of hot soup, before they sit for a family picture at the “Photo Shop.” Everything in the Christmas village is provided free of charge.

On the edge of the Christmas village, in the gymnasium, Grace will launch an all-new multimedia presentation. This brief presentation includes original video and engaging music that perfectly fits the season. This unique combination of technology and music serves as a great launch to any family’s Christmas season.

As the indoor presentation concludes, the outdoor Christmas village will re-open as the crowds spill out to enjoy all the cottages have to offer.

The Field By Night is presented by Grace Church, located at 1300 Lake Douglas Road in Bainbridge. More information can be found at www.gracechurchga.org or by calling (229) 243-9700. There is no charge for any part of this event.
