Warriors fall by 1 point in playoffs

Friday night was the first round of playoff football for the Southwest Georgia Academy Warriors, with the Warriors falling by a heart-breaking 21-20 score.

The Warriors play the Gatewood Gators from Eatonton, Ga. The Warriors took an early 14-0 lead from two touchdown runs by junior running back Will Warren.

Later, the Gators scored a touchdown to make it 14-7. Soon after, the Warriors responded with another touchdown run from Warren, but missed the extra point. The Warriors had a 20-7 lead heading into the second half.

The Gators struck first in the second half with a touchdown to make it a score of 20-14. The Gators later held the Warriors on fourth down, taking the ball back with around four minutes to go in the fourth quarter.

They drove the ball down field and scored to go ahead of the Warriors by a score of 21-20. With under a minute to go, the Warriors threw an interception to end the game.
