Larry and Gloria Harrell, of Bainbridge, announce the engagement of their daughter, Christy Welch, to Sammy Watson Jr., also of Bainbridge.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Cecil and Juanita Williams, and the late Leo and Mildred Harrell. She is a 1995 graduate of Bainbridge High School and is currently attending Bainbridge College, where she is studying nursing.

The groom-to-be is the son of Melissa Pope, of Bainbridge, Sammy Watson Sr. and Gail Watson, of Colquitt, Ga. He is the grandson of Marie Bates, of Blakely, Ga., and the late Cleveland and Hazel Watson and George Bates.

Mr. Watson is a 1996 graduate of Miller County High School and is employed as a detention officer at the Decatur County Jail.

The wedding is planned for Nov. 3, at Beulah Thomas Baptist Church. The reception will follow at the Firehouse Gallery. Friends and relatives are invited to attend.
