Perra Harrell, a freshman at Westwood Schools in Camilla and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs Mike Harrell of Bainbridge, is a state cross-country champion.
She won the Georgia Independent Schools Association (GISA) girls state championship Saturday in Albany, with a 5,000-meter (3.1-mile) personal best time of 20:09.
It was the school’s first girls cross-country championship in the 15-year history of the program. Harrell was also region champion.
