Mary Cecilia Zimmerman, 86, of Columbus, Ga., passed away on Oct. 25, 2012.
Funeral services for Mrs. Zimmerman will be 3 p.m., Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery.

Visitation for Mrs. Zimmerman will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at the funeral home.

Mary Cecilia Zimmerman was born Feb. 4, 1926, in Mt. Vernon, N.Y., to the late Joseph and Mary Conticchio Petrillo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Aaron Zimmerman Jr., and a son, John Aaron Zimmerman III. Mrs. Zimmerman was retired from the Army and Air Force Exchange Service.

Survivors include her son, Roy Zimmerman and his wife Anita of Bainbridge, and a daughter, Susan Tucker of Columbus, one sister, Claire Petrillo of Mt. Vernon, four grandchildren, Jennifer Zimmerman, Emilie (Erik) Mathijssen, Amy (Robert) Patterson, and Diana (Anthony) Edens; and six great-grandchildren.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society: P.O. Box 102454, Atlanta, GA 30368 in memory of Mary Cecilia Zimmerman.
