Herchel Alwyn Williams, 44, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at Covenant Hospice, in Pensacola, Fla. after a long battle with brain cancer. Services were held in Pensacola, Fla., on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012.

He was born Aug. 9, 1968, in Izmir, Turkey, the son of Joe and Eulouise Williams. He was married June 27, 1998, to Monica Schlitt in Springfield, Ill.

Herchel graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history from Southern Illinois University and received his Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Illinois. He proudly served as an officer in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Herchel is preceded in death by his grandparents, Rosa and Harry Williams and Herchel and Elizabeth Hamill.

Survivors include his wife, Monica; two children, Emma and Britton; parents, Joe and Eulouise (Hamill) Williams and one sister, Sunny Williams.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Covenant Hospice of Pensacola.

Trahan Family Funeral Home of Pensacola is in charge of arrangements.
