Clarence Murphy and Connie Gainous announce the engagement of their daughter, Caly Marie Murphy, of Cairo, Ga., to Sean Edward Coffey, the son of Dave and Patricia Edmonds of Fremont, Calif., and of Jack and Glenda Coffey of Cairo.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of A.C. “Doc” Gainous and the late Lillian Golden Gainous of Cairo and the late Nulan Murphy of Hattiesburg, Miss. and the late Carrie Lee Rodgers of Cullman, Ala.

Miss Murphy is a 2001 graduate of Cairo High School. She earned an Associate of Zoo Sciences from Pensacola Junior College and a Bachelor of Environmental Biology from Thomas University. She is employed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

The groom-to-be is the grandson of Esther Barrett of Velarde, N.M. and the late Roman Contreras of South San Francisco, Calif., and of Edward Goff and Nanny Swallows of Edinburgh, Ind.

Mr. Coffey is a 1997 graduate of Cairo High School and is employed by Impact Resources Group.

The wedding is planned for Oct. 27, at 4 p.m., at Shiloh Farm, in Tallahassee, Fla.
