Mr. Grady Josey, 98, formerly of Bainbridge, passed away on October 20, 2012, at his daughter’s home in Panama City, Fla., with his family at his side.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel in Panama City. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Decatur County, Ga., at 3:30 p.m. Central/4:30 p.m. Eastern, on Wednesday, October 24, 2012. The family will receive friends from on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home.

Mr. Josey was born in Decatur County, Georgia on July 1, 1914, and lived his entire working life in Decatur and Seminole Counties. Grady worked twenty plus years for Willis Lumber Company in Bainbridge and then for Georgia Tubing in Early County until he retired at age 79.

Grady is survived by one daughter: Eudonis Shepard of Panama City; one son: Randall Josey and wife Virginia of Panama City; his five grandchildren: James Shepard Jr. and wife Pam of Panama City, Gary Shepard and wife Michelle of Frontenac, Kan., Randall Josey Jr. and wife Mary of Dallas, Texas, Kendall Josey of Panama City and Danny Tharp and wife Becky of Bainbridge, GA; eight great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife: Annie Ingram Josey; a granddaughter: Robin Roland; a son-in-law: James Shepard; his parents: Charles and Susie Hunter Josey; and three brothers and three sisters.

Heritage Funeral Home in Panama City, Fla., is in charge of arrangements.
