For the second year, residents of the Rivers Apartments, a housing complex of approximately 100 units on Lake Drive, are invited to walk for breast cancer awareness on Saturday, Oct. 13, beginning at 10 a.m.

The event is open to both men and women, and there is no entry fee. The course walked will be around the pavilion, basketball courts and grounds of the apartment complex. Walkers are asked to keep a count of their laps and the last person standing will get a prize.

Cynthia Butler, residence activities director, promises there will be other door prizes for participants and refreshments at the conclusion of the walk.
