Bingo and poker run to raise money for animal shelter

Animal lovers may be interested in participating in two upcoming fundraisers that will benefit the Bainbridge-Decatur County Humane Society.

On Friday, Oct. 18, the Humane Society will hold a Bingo Night and hot dog supper at the First Presbyterian Church located at 200 E. Shotwell Street in Bainbridge.

Supper will be served at 6 p.m., with bingo to be played between 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. There will also be door prizes. Admission is a $10 donation for adults and a $5 donation for children and includes supper and a bingo card. Extra bingo cards can be provided for a suggested donation of $1 per card or six cards for $5.

The Paws and Claws motorcycle Poker Run will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20. In a poker run, bikers travel to different places and draw a playing card at each stop, with the goal of having the best poker hand when it’s all over. The event will also feature a 50/50 raffle, an auction and door prizes. The cost is $10 to enter, with additional cards costing $5.

The poker run will make stops in Bainbridge, Lake Seminole, Chattahoochee, Fla., and Donalsonville, Ga. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. The poker run will begin at the Dairy Queen in Bainbridge at 10 a.m. and wrap up at the Boat Basin in Bainbridge at 2:30 p.m.
