Services for Kedar Wright Hollingsworth, Sr., 84, of Cairo, Ga., will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at Trinity Primitive Baptist Church, in Whigham, Ga. Elder Franklin Bryant and Elder Bobby Willis will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Tony Godwin, Wayne Hollingsworth, Bobby Hollingsworth, Wendell Hollingsworth, Paul Dustin Hollingsworth, Ward Hollingsworth, Van Ponder and Hunter Calhoun. Honorary pallbearers will be men of the Church, members of the Whigham High School Graduating Class of 1945, and members of the camping clubs.

Mr. Hollingsworth was born on March 25, 1928, in Whigham, to the late Gilbert Beebe Hollingsworth Sr., and Clara Lee Connell Hollingsworth. He passed away at his home in Cairo on Monday, Oct. 1, 2012. On Dec. 24, 1953, he married Bonnie Jean Prince Hollingsworth, who survives. He was a member of the Whigham High School Graduating Class of 1945, and a technical school graduate. He was a Ford tractor mechanic for 10 years and then was a machinist with Engelhard Chemical Corporation, now BASF of Attapulgus, for 23 years before retiring due to ill health in March 1990.

Mr. Hollingsworth was a charter member of the Flint River Good Sams Camping Club since May of 1981 and a charter member of the Georgia Southerners Family Motor Coach Association Camping Club since September 1992. He was also a member of the Coachman Camping Club. He had been a member of Trinity Primitive Baptist Church since 1965, and also had served as President of the Grady County Singing Convention.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Glenn, Wayne and Lavern Hollingsworth; and one sister, Mary Frances H. Womble.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Bonnie Jean Prince Hollingsworth of Cairo; daughters and son-in-law, Clara Jean and James Herr of Grove City, Ohio, Rebecca Ann Hollingsworth of Tallahassee, Fla.; sons and daughter-in-law, Kedar Wright Hollingsworth, Jr. of Attapulgus, Paul D. and Sue Hollingsworth of Bainbridge; grandchildren, Paul Dustin Hollingsworth of Cairo, Brigid Louise Herr (Brian) Allgood of Columbus, Ohio; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Winnie Prince of Cairo, Carolyn Hollingsworth of Bainbridge, Helen Calhoun of Bainbridge; brothers, G. B. Hollingsworth, Jr., of Whigham, and Kenneth Hollingsworth of Whigham.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
