Funeral Services for Mrs. Maggie Kelley West, 90, will be Sunday, Sept. 23 at 3:30 p.m. at Mount Mariah No. 1 Missionary Baptist Church, 2310 Antioch Church Road, Climax. Interment will follow in Conyers Cemetery, Climax, with Rev. John Henry Neal, eulogist, and Rev. Douglas Barber, pastor.

Visitation will be Saturday, from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Chandler’s Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. West was born Oct. 9, 1921 in Climax, to Mr. and Mrs. Henry G. (Susie Anna) Kelley. She passed Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012 at Tallahassee (Fla.) Memorial Healthcare Hospital.

She was a member of  Mount Moriah No. 1 Missionary Baptist Church, Climax. She was educated in the Decatur County Public School System and in Wayne Nursing School, New York.

Her Career was in nursing until retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ressie Irick, Ester Neal, Bernice Anderson; brothers, Johnny Guy, Kelley and Predolia Kelley.

Survivors include an adopted sister, Julia (Johnny) Smiley; a god son, Corey Bethel; a god daughter, Jeanette Thompson; a very dear friend and neighbor, Joyce Phipps and husband; and a host of nieces, nephews, and sorrowing friends.

Chandler’s Funeral Home, Inc. of Attapulgus is in charge of arrangements.
