Richard Soderman and Kimmie Jo Soderman, both of Dahlonega, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Heidi Marie Soderman, to James Matthew Beck, of Cumming, Ga., the son of Jim and Shirley Beck of Bainbridge.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Howard and Marie Sanderson, and also of Gary and Nancy Soderman, all of Gladstone, Mich.

Miss Soderman is a 1999 graduate of North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, Ga. In 2004, she graduated from North Georgia College and State University, with a degree in biology. She received a doctorate in physical therapy from Georgia State University in 2009.

She is employed by UHS-Pruitt Corporation, United Home Care.

The groom-to-be is the grandson of Charlene Knight of Henderson, Ga., and the late John L. Knight, and the late James and Sue Beck of Waycross, Ga.

Mr. Beck is a 2002 graduate of Bainbridge High School and received a BBA in Marketing from Kennesaw State University in 2008. He is employed by Automated Systems Design.

The wedding is planned for Sept. 22, at 5 p.m., at Forrest Hills Mountain Resort in Dahlonega, where the reception will follow.
