TSPLOST is another example of ‘big government’

Gosh, I don’t know where the money came from for that fancy colored brochure regarding T-SPLOST, but it sure had to cost more that one penny! It’s strange how when big government wants something, they come up with funds from other people’s pocketbooks, especially when they want more of our hard-earned money!

We recently received an expensive mailing from the Georgia Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Inc., 233 Peachtree St., Suite 2000, Atlanta, GA 30303. How interesting that this mailing is coming from a Chamber of Commerce in Atlanta, no less, to us extremely strapped southwestern Georgians.

I imagine Atlanta needs more money for something, but then, I can’t see where it will “trickle back” to us. Most likely I can see that this will just be another tax that will always be on the books that wealthier districts in Georgia will always have needs for.

How about you? Aren’t you tired of all the taxing? Did you get a big raise this year? Did you get a promotion?

Think about it … did you see where the federal government is going to take a bigger chunk out of your wages with another tax, that is, if you even have a job left? Who will get these jobs promised in this T-SPLOST? We have already seen what the government has done with the money that was promised to help grow industry and jobs. Yep, it all disappeared!

It is in your best interest, and ours, to vote “no” on the T-SPLOST. Let’s keep our own pennies here in Decatur County!
