I’m voting ‘No’ on TSPLOST

We are being taxed into socialism! It seems that every day a solicitation for additional monies is presented.

I, for one, have reached a saturation point. An insidious approach has become the norm (only 1 percent here, 1/2 percent here and for only 10 years, five years, etc.) — all for “good” causes: education, highways, health care, the indigent, and the list goes on and on.

At a time when my property evaluation has decreased over more than 40 percent, my property taxes have gone up. I also find myself being taxed on my telephone, my electric use, my fuel, my food, my every day purchases of any type, Obama’s Health Care, and now, on July 31, I am being asked to vote for a TSPLOST tax of 1 percent for 10 years.

Needless to say, I will be voting “No,” and I would hope that this vote serves as a wakeup call to all.

If you believe that our government must live within its means, if you believe that we have lost our fiscal way, and that we are gambling away the greatness that so many have worked for, and yes, died for, then please vote for legislators and legislation that will end this fiscal malfeasance.
