Special to The Post-Searchlight

Southwind Plantation was recently recognized as one of the top three Orvis Wingshooting Lodges in the nation.

Each year, Orvis selects their top lodges from across the country, and bases their selection on a several factors. They judge each lodge on the quality of the quail, dogs, guides, accommodations and the over all feed back given by customers.

Specializing in quail hunting, Southwind brings in guests from all around the world to be a part of this south Georgia experience. Southwind provides many other services as well, including weddings, corporate meetings or retreats.

Owner Tim Smith and the Southwind staff said they are very excited to receive this award and recognition from the Orvis Company. They plan to continue their efforts in being one of Orvis’s top lodges.
