Give what you can to make ‘Day of Action’ a success

This Saturday, the United Way of Bainbridge-Decatur County will once again hold a “Day of Action,” as volunteers help clean up and paint a local charitable organization.

From 8 a.m. until noon, the volunteers will be working at RISE Educational Tutoring Inc., at 103 Broad St. in Climax, which provides tutoring services to kindergarten through fifth-grade students. Service projects planned include doing yard work, painting a deck and donating extra tables.

In addition, the Salvation Army on Scott Street will be taking donations Saturday. Some of the items needed include canned goods and other food staples for the Salvation Army pantry, walkers, wheelchairs and adult and children’s diapers for BAIN, and men’s business attire and Bibles for the Laymen Brotherhood Second Chance Outreach Center.

We encourage everyone to help out in any way they can, whether by offering their labor at the Climax site, or by bringing donations to the Salvation Army. For more information about the Day of Action, call Kim Walden at (229) 220-6284, or email kimberlywalden@gmail.com.

Together, we can make a difference in our community.
