Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Lamar Dixon of Dalton, Ga., and Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Ernest Mullican of New Bern, N.C., announce the engagement of their daughter, Courtney Rebecca Mullican, to Grayson Lamar Gunn, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Grady Gunn of Birmingham, Ala.

Miss Mullican is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth C. Horn of Bainbridge, the late Mr. Jimmy C. McCord of Roanoke, Ala., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Everett I. Mullican of Wedowee, Ala.

She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Laboratory Technology from Auburn (Ala.) University and will complete a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Harrison School of Pharmacy at Auburn University in May. She will be employed by Walgreens.

Mr. Gunn is the grandson of Mrs. George Gunn of Spanish Fort, Ala., the late Mr. George Gunn, the late Dr. Frank Lamar DeMott, the late Mrs. Mary Miles DeMott, and the late Ms. Jenifer Anne Whiddon.

He received a Bachelor in Arts degree in History from Auburn University and is currently employed by Precision Packaging.The wedding is planned for May 19 at Walnut Hill Farm in Dalton.
