Funeral services for John “Butch” Peterson Casteel, 59, of Fowlstown, will be  held Saturday, March 31, 2012, at St. Thomas M.B. Church, with Rev. Willie Smiley officiating. Interment will be in Sherman Williams Cemetery and Classmates of 1970 will act as honorary pallbearers. Active pallbearers will be William Casteel, Bobby Casteel, Danny Casteel, James Harris, Dewayne Gainous and Lamerrio Casteel.

Visitation will be Friday, March 30, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bruton Mortuary.

Mr. Casteel was born Sept. 19, 1952, at Amsterdam, Ga., and died March 25, 2012, at his home. He was a self-employed carpenter and a member of Smith Grove M.B. Baptist Church.

Mr. Casteel was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Casteel and father, William Bud Casteel.

Survivors include his mother, Sarah Casteel; one son, LaMerrio Casteel; two daughters, Khadijah Casteel-Harris and Vanessa Casteel; and 14 grandchildren.

Bruton Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
