Group again offering help with taxes

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is helping prepare taxes for those who have incomes of less than $50,000.

Services will be available at the Decatur County-Gilbert H. Gragg Library this Saturday, Feb. 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, March 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and every Thursday starting Feb. 9, from noon to 3 p.m. Exceptions are for Thursdays, Feb. 16, and March 1, when the VITA program will not be offered, according to Decatur County Family Connection Coordinator Ronnie Burke.

The program is organized by Decatur County Family Connection. The volunteers this year will range from community members to business majors from Bainbridge Community College. The service is for 1040-EZ forms and eligible participants must bring their Social Security cards for all taxpayers and dependents.
