Weight loss surgery system to be explainedPublished 1:06pm Friday, July 22, 2011
Do you suffer from health problems such as high blood pressure, acid reflux, Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke, sleep apnea or infertility?
Has your doctor informed you that losing weight would improve these conditions and your overall health?
The new Archbold Bariatric Weight Loss Program offers the most comprehensive range of weight loss services available in the region. This unique program is designed to help patients achieve their weight loss goals, improve their overall health and enhance their quality of life.
Archbold’s program offers a range of individualized weight loss services and features a weight loss surgery component, commonly referred to as Lap-Band or Bariatric surgery.
As part of Archbold’s continuing Health Talk free community lecture series, Gregory K. Patterson, M.D., and registered dietitian/certified diabetes educator Beth Lowe will present the Archbold Bariatric weight loss program, featuring Lap-Band surgery on Tuesday, July 26.
Dr. Patterson will discuss obesity-related health conditions and medical weight loss options available to help patients achieve their health goals including Lap-Band surgery. Patterson will discuss the medical criteria essential for a patient to qualify for surgery. Lowe will discuss the program’s nutritional components and the unique support system that helps patients stay positive, focused and motivated.
Dr. Patterson is board certified in general surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Patterson performs Lap-Band surgery, a safe and effective surgical weight loss option that has proven to help thousands of people lose weight and keep it off.
Lowe is the program dietitian, counseling patients prior to surgery and following them for one year after Lap-Band placement.
