Funeral services for Ada Lee Merkison, 89, of Bainbridge will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 29, at Harvest Assembly of God Church with the Revs. Malcolm Parker and Paul Wade officiating.

Interment will follow at Calvary Assembly of God Church Cemetery near Brinson with Larry Harrell, Bryan Hall, Mike Andrews, Danny Thompson, Edward Deal and Mitchell Comerford serving as active pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Ivey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Merkison was born on Oct. 20, 1921, in Colquitt, Ga., the daughter of Walter Edward Wade and Alma Gay Wade. She died April 26, 2011, at Memorial Hospital. She was a homemaker, a charter member of Calvary Assembly of God Church and a member of Harvest Assembly of God Church.

Mrs. Merkison was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include her daughter, Helen Tate of Bainbridge; her brother, Paul Wade and his wife, Liz, of Flowery Branch, Ga.; her sisters, Minnie Mash of Cairo and Thelma Davis and her husband, Cal, of Eatonton, Ga.; her grandchildren, Terry Duane Tate of Bainbridge and Kimberly T. Newberry and her husband, Jack, of Iron City, Ga.; her great-grandchildren, Laura Leigh Andrews and her fiancé, Jared Long, Kacee Tate, Derry Tate, Lane Newberry and Kerri Ann Tate.

Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
